I was recently on a trip to Lexington, KY with my four boys, ages 13,11,8 and 5, and wanted them to experience a tour of a horse farm. I had the privilege of going on a few tours when I was their age and my dad was an assistant football coach at the University of Kentucky. A friend arranged a tour for us provided by Larry Miano of Thoroughbred Heritage Tours, and it was fantastic! Larry met us at our hotel early in the morning with juice and dough nuts (a big hit with the boys) and proceeded to take us on a very interesting and informative tour. We visited Keeneland Race Track first, and got a chance to watch several horses going through morning workouts. After that, we headed out to horse country and enjoyed an up close and personal tour of the spectacular WinStar Farm. The tour was everything that I hoped it would be for my boys, and a great way to cap our visit to Lexington. If you are ever in the area and looking for a great horse farm tour, I strongly recommend going with Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farm Tours.

Each year when I return to Lexington I always schedule a farm tour with Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farm Tours. This repeat experience is not a waste of time. The tours are always fresh and informative year after year. I never have the feeling that I am seeing and hearing the same tour over and over. The tours offer access to horse farm experiences that are not available privately. The staff is competent and friendly; the vans are clean and comfortable. Larry at the Thoroughbred Horse Farm Tour gave our group of 7 a very memorable tour. He was very professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He provided us with information all along the entire tour, including during the van ride and was always able to answer our many questions. We learned so much about the Lexington area, the local horse culture and much more. He was helpful to my elderly mother and patient with my young niece. I would highly recommend this tour. I also thought the price was extremely reasonable.
