Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, and since tours often sell out we recommend you book as far in advance as possible. Buy tickets online through Zerve now!
Are the tours always the same?
Tours vary on weekends and during Keeneland's racing season in April and October. During the race season we go to Keeneland in the morning every day and only Monday and Tuesday afternoons. An additional farm or other venue is substituted for Keeneland.
Where do we meet the tour?
Our primary hotel pickup location is the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lexington. We pick up at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 8:30am and 12:30pm. In addition to our primary location we also offer the option to be picked up at one of our other partner hotels (only if you are staying there) such as the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Lyndon House, Marriott Courtyard North, Marriott Griffin Gate, Clarion, Fairfield Inn (Lexington North), and Sheraton Four Points. If you choose one of these alternate hotels, you must be ready for pickup 20 minutes before your tour's start time. However, you may be picked up anywhere from 5-20 minutes prior depending on how many pickup points are needed for the tour you selected. You can select your pickup location when purchasing your tickets. Note that if you are driving the Embassy Suites has a large parking lot where you can park for free. We reserve the right to change alternate hotel pick ups to the Embassy Suites if there are too many pick up locations for a specific tour.
What if I am late?
We leave on time and to be fair to everyone we cannot wait. If you are running late by a couple of minutes call (859) 260-8687 and we will try to assist you but no guarantee.
Are we on the van the whole tour?
Absolutely not. The tour takes place on a van since the locations are spread around the Lexington area. But we get off the van at Keeneland Race Course and at one of the premier thoroughbred farms giving you the opportunity to experience the locations and to take pictures.
Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit but it is not recommended for children under six. If you do take infants and/or toddlers they must be in a car seat (state law).
Are food or drinks offered on the tour?
No food is provided or allowed on the van. You may bring covered or bottled beverages.
Will we be able to purchase gifts on the tour?
We generally allow a few minutes at the Keeneland gift shop, time permitting.
Is there a restroom stop?
Yes, we stop for one restroom break.
What happens if it rains?
Our tours go on rain or shine and we have only cancelled one time due to weather. Please dress appropriately for the weather as we do get off the van several times. During inclement weather we have covered walkways at Keeneland and are generally inside the thoroughbred barns when we visit the farm.
Is there a reschedule policy?
We will allow rescheduling to another tour, subject to availability, only if you do so at least 24 hours in advance.
